    I enjoyed the articles on the rising cost of room and board and high paying administrator positions.

    Here's another thought, why not identify unnecessary classes for degree programs and eliminate them as required courses? I believe courses like Music Appreciation, Yoruba as a Foreign Language, The Making of the Atomic Bomb, etc. are simply in degree programs to collect additional tuition from students.

    Eliminate four three hour courses and save 10% on Tuition and 12.5% on Room and Board on a typical 120 hour degree.

    Some states are responding to this with pricing by degree (Texas, Florida).

    I think there's a lot of campus improvement baked into increases as well as schools compete for students on the basis of cafeterias & internet speed rather than faculty.
